That depends on which tattoos you're talking about, actually. Katee has three tattoos:
• An inscription reading "bona fiscalia" on her right forearm. It is a Latin legal phrase meaning "public property." Katee has said that it is a reminder to herself that, by choosing to be an actress, she has chosen to be in the public spotlight and will be regarded as a role model whether she likes it or not, so she should behave herself accordingly.

• A Chinese character meaning "choice" on the back of her neck. (Katee was kind enough to pose for this picture at Starbase Indy over Thanksgiving weekend 2006. Listen to the interview for her story about this tattoo and the others as well.)

The Chinese character represented there is this one:

• A black cross on her left shoulder blade (which is actually a coverup of an earlier tattoo, a small blue heart that she got when she was 15).

On Battlestar Galactica, they cover up the cross on her shoulder blade, because there is no Christian religion in the BSG universe. In the first season they used makeup to cover it when it would be visible, but in Season 2 they mostly covered it with bandages — see "Resistance," "The Farm," and "Scar" for examples. In Season 3, they modified it into a black pyramid so that they didn't have to hide it. They've never tried to hide the other two, although her hair often covers the one on her neck. (Sadly, at the Grand Slam SciFi Summit convention in April, 2007, Katee mentioned that she is getting this tattoo removed, as it is so difficult to cover and it is beginning to affect her ability to get parts. It's noticably faded in recent pictures. The "bona fiscalia" tattoo may also have to go.)

In the second season finale, "Lay Down Your Burdens Part 2," Kara got a new tattoo, a wing attached to a ring to symbolize her marriage to Anders. That tattoo, shown here, is fake. Katee and Michael Trucco, who plays Samuel Anders, apparently were involved in the design.

Katee wore a ring on her left thumb for many years, and it can be seen in many of her appearances since she preferred to leave it on, fearing losing it. On Battlestar Galactica, it was assumed to be Zak's ring, which was the backstory that Katee made up to explain it. Sometime during 2005 the ring broke, and Katee decided that it was time to stop wearing it. Because it had been made into part of the story, however, she waited until there was an appropriate time in the storyline to take it off. In "Lay Down Your Burdens Part 2," after the one year jump on New Caprica, she is no longer wearing it, because of Starbuck's marriage to Sam Anders. Starbuck now has "Zak's ring" on the chain with her dogtag(s), and Katee no longer wears the thumb ring.
Very simply, because Katee asked us to. She is very unhappy with those pictures and wishes that she hadn't done that photoshoot; she asked us to remove them, so we did. They're around in a lot of places on the Web, of course, but if they make her uncomfortable, we don't want them here.
By the way, if you see Katee anywhere, such as at a convention, please note that she has refused to sign those photos at recent appearances.
She was born on April 8, 1980, so as of this writing she is 28 years old.
Katee prefers to keep her private life private, and we respect that. However, she's talked about her boyfriend Scott Niemeyer in public enough (and been photographed with him) that we suppose we could mention him. He's a producer that she met while working on White Noise 2: The Light.
No, she's not lying; she had a role in the film, but it was in a sub-plot that was eliminated when they edited the film. One of the hazards of being an actor in Hollywood! We don't list it in her filmography since you can't see her there, but she has it on her resume because she did the work, even though it ended up not being seen.
You can write to Katee at either of the addresses listed above and request one. Alternatively, you can buy autographed pictures of Katee (and the other Battlestar Galactica cast members) from a company called Iconographics, in Las Vegas; they have signed agreements with the BSG cast for autographs. Their website is here, and they sometimes sell on eBay as well. Autographs sold by Creation Entertainment and Starbase Atlanta are definitely genuine as well, and dealers who are registered dealers with the UACC (Universal Autograph Collectors Club) are trustworthy.
Unfortunately, a lot of the autographs for sale on eBay are fakes. There's an article about this on LiveJournal that provides some information about which are real and which are fake. There are some pictures on this site that have genuine autographs if you want to see what Katee's signature really looks like.
Yes, she has two dogs: A pug/chihuahua mix named Meatball, who she's had for many years, and a younger pug named Nelly B (after the character she played on The Education of Max Bickford), who she describes as "insane."
"Officially," 5'6" (or 1.68 m for our more enlightened audience members). However, we can tell you that, sans heels, she is just a bit shorter than our webmaster, who is 5'6". Draw your own conclusions.
Yes, although, as she said in a recent interview, "Well, not this blonde."
Hazel. (Not blue!!)
NO. Even if we had any of that information, we respect Katee's safety and privacy far too much to go around handing out stuff like that. Please don't ask!
